Smart Distribution Logistik, a german research project, wants to extend the usage of battery electric vehicle (BEV) in inner-city logitics. This goes hand in hand with the desire of german population and politics for less CO2 emmision and noise of the traffic. BEV’s have a number of disadvantages like higher acquisition cost than vehicles with combustion engine, limited driving ranges and high recharge times. But they have low CO2 emission, do not produce noise and do not need fossil fuels. SDL tries to show the concept of an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) platform for managing logistic-fleets of BEV combined with combustion engine vehicles and optimizing the logistic fleet-composition, logistic concept and planned routes for BEV’s in inner-city logistics. In this paper we outline the concept of an ICT platform to optimize underused resources. We try to achieve this goal with sharing resources between project partners for utilization maximization. Therefore we make a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis of the data from stakeholders for optimizing car-, cargo-sharing in order to optimize the whole logistic concept for using more BEV’s in combined logistic fleets. We outline a concept of a distributed big data network with usage of software-agent technology to acquire and preprocess the data with a software-agent at stakeholders offices. The agents have knowledge about the data policies and only submit that the stakeholder allowed.
